Robert Thomas Pattinson just turned 23! As our favorite vampire character celebrates his May 13 birthday he is quite busy filming at Vancouver before heading off to Italy for the final scenes in New Moon. It has been a great year for Rob and I’m so happy for him. And the latest ondit is that he will be doing a new movie with Hugh Jackman. Yay, Edward Cullen and Wolverine together in one movie…

The Twilight Cast especially Robert Pattinson was besieged by  hordes of shrieking twilighters in the London premier of the movie on December 3, 2008. London native Robert Pattinson was hugely welcome at his homebase along with Kristin Stewart, his Bella. This early they are predicting that the movie will equal the North American box office gross when it opens this December and the premier has geared up the spread of Twilight fever across Europe. Robert Pattinson is now being compared to Orlando Bloom with his dashing good looks and brooding charms. Rob, who is not a stranger in his own country because of his role as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter series is the new pin up of those screaming girls and has emerged as the new breakout Superstar for his role as Edward Cullen in Twilight.

The film, an adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight novel is a story of the romance between a human and a vampire. The book has sold over 25 million copies worldwide and the movie has grossed nearly 120 million dollars in its two weeks of screening in the US.

Vampiremania invades the cinema. Twilight debuted in USA at No.1 this weekend with a gross of 70.5 million dollars, proving right the estimates made before it was shown. The movie was budgeted at 38 millin dollars and news have it that the sequel is under way. Congratulations to Stepehenie Meyer and the movie casts especially to Robert Pattinson, the new breakout star of the year.

Finally November 21, 2008 is here and TWILIGHT is finally at a theatre near you. I get goose bumps just thinking that this is going to be massive and everyone will be caught with a vampire bug. A lot of people now expect Twilight to take $70m (£47m) in a blockbuster opening weekend that will turn it into the biggest new release since The Dark Knight, creating one of the most successful series of teenage films of all time. I wonder how those executives over at MTV films, Fox, and Paramount Pictures feels right now? They may be wishing that vampire is real and would gladly have their neck bitten over their idiocy for turning it down. And more good news is that fandango.com have been selling five Twilight tickets per second on opening day and reporting that they sold out of 1,000 midnight shows Thursday and reports that the PG-13 romance has become their #3 Advance Ticket Seller, ahead of all Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Pirates movies and trailing only The Dark Knight and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.  And I’m not reading any movie reviews, it’s enough for me that Stephenie Meyer loves it.

In the August Issue of Portrait, a UK mag, their search for this years Top 30 Under 30 was hugely succesful. They have an an ASTOUNDING 120 000+ votes, up to the last hour of voting. The mag said that they were  hanging onto the edge of their seats to see who would take out the coveted #1 position. The voting took over two months and it was a battle between fandoms as fans loyally supported their favourite nominees. And guess what Twilighters out there, the cast of Twilight took the No. 1 Place. Yay.  Although Harry Potter fans should also rejoice since two of their cast made it into top 5, Emma Watson who plays Hermione Granger and Bonnie Wright as Ginny Weasley in No. 4 and 5 respectively. The attention being given to Twilight Cast was short of phenomenal and the movie is still months away… As Portrait Mag said when they described them:

1. Move Over Harry Potter: Cast of Twilight
Robert Pattison
(Edward Cullen – May 13, 1986 ), Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan – April 9, 1990), Ashley Greene (Alice Cullen – February 21, 1987), Taylor Lautner (Jacob Black – February  11, 1992),  Jackson Rathbone (Jasper Hale – December 21, 1984), Nikki Reed (Rosalie Hale – May 17, 1988),  Kellan Lutz (Emmett Cullen – March 15, 1985), Michael Welch (Mike Newton – July 25, 1987), Christian Serratos  (Angela Webber – September 21, 1990), Anna Kendrick  (Jessica Stanley – August 9, 1985), Justin Chon (Eric Yorkie) Cam Gigadent (James – August 16, 1982), Rachelle Lefevre (Victoria – February 1, 1979), Edi Gathegi (Laurent – March 10, 1979).

We knew that Twilight was going to be BIG but we never realised just how big this novel-turned-movie would become! Despite the fact that the film isn’t realised until December, there is so much anticipation for this movie to come out that it’s bound to give the Harry Potter franchise a run for its money and you’ll soon all be going “Harry Who?” For months now, this talented cast have been the centre of attention with everyone intrigued and wanting to know more about them. Twilight fans are definitely loyal – just one week into voting the cast of Twilight had already taken out 44% of the votes! It’s probably no surprise that they’ve come out on top in the end. And if you thought the fan base was big now, just wait until this modern day vampire love story actually hits cinemas and the rest of the world becomes enraptured with it – the fan base will surely multiply even more!”
